Friendly volunteers to assist you with trails, information, maps, good resource for books on locals sites, animals, aviary... These folks can help you and your guests or family make informed choices to match your personal interests and abilities. If you take a great photo on your phone, be sure to share it with one of the volunteer rangers for the benefit of all future visitors. Sort of "Pay It Forward!"

I'm not aware of a visitors center here. There are camp hosts, and a nice campground with sunny, shady, and view campsites. It's a well run and maintained place, a tad on the rustic side, but there is running water. Because of the elevation it's not as hot in the summer as,say SanDiego. The Meadow loop often gets a nice breeze in the afternoon.
