They are changing the mortgage industry, and in the process providing rates/pricing that no one else can beat. Their customer service was excellent, there were no hitches, and we closed on time just fine. They were helpful every step of the way. The process was smooth and easy. And the. best. rate. Gravely disappointed. I had narrowed it down between Bank of America and Better when refinancing my home. I truthfully had a great experience with Better as I was given a competitive rate and good customer service. But when Better was unable to match Bank of America's rate of 3.75% compared to the best Better could do of 4.0% I was told that upon closing of my loan they will give me $1,000 dollars since they were unable to match. Upon closing of my loan however, they found a loophole instead of honoring their word. The loophole being the points changing slightly increasing the cost less than $1,000 dollars over the life of the loan but keeping the 3.75 rate and everything else intact. Anyone that deals with mortgages knows how minuscule this is. Especially since the best rate Better could have given me, 4.0% would have been THOUSANDS of dollars more and they still could have not matched the 3.75% rate. While I had not gone with them this time I had touted the company as stellar and up until this point had recommended them to friends while also knowing I would use them in shopping rates in the future for my income properties. Wish there would have been a better outcome. I will not be using their company again.
