If I could give zero stars I would. My Aunt passed away awhile back and left my Mom some money. It was in accounts at two different banks. Specific and detailed instructions were given on allocating those funds upon her death. The first bank followed those instructions and the transfer of funds was easy. The second bank, Charter bank of Pace, FL has been an abysmal nightmare. The employee we had the displeasure to work with, Heather, has made the process nearly impossible. After refusing to wire the money into my Mom's account (despite talking to her on the phone), or giving a check to my Mom's other sister, who was actually in the branch to facilitate the transfer, she insisted the check had to be mailed to my Mom via registered letter. Say what? Is this 1940 or 2018? That was last Monday, December 10th. Heather guaranteed it would go out registered mail that day. After a week and no letter, my Mom calls the branch only to find out that Heather did NOT mail on Monday. She hadn't mailed it at all. That is just blatant incompetence, and in my opinion, vindictive, because my Mom had told Heather she wasn't happy with how this transaction was handled. Had my Mom not called and complained, it would probably still be sitting on Heather's desk. And to add insult to injury, she spun a yarn about a boss being on vacation, etc. What a crock of passing the buck crapola. I don't like the incompetence, vindictiveness or the lies. Heather should be kicked to the curb. And while the check was apparently mailed today, it was only done so under duress. Don't just walk away from this bank, run away from it. Especially the Pace, FL branch. There clearly have to be better options for your banking needs.
