My loan was purchased by Freedom mortgage. They are the absolute worst excuse for a mortgage company. We made our payment on time, as we have done every month. This time it was short by $74.23. We did not receive the escrow change letter that was mailed to us, letting us know the escrow amount increased, making our payment $74.23 higher. Although the payment was almost $4,000 they did not credit it to our account. The letter from Freedom Mortgage stated, "Unfortunately we are unable to apply a payment to advance your due date unless it is full contract will payments." It is as if no payment was ever made and our account showed 30 days late. Freedom mortgage reported us to the credit bureau as 30 days late on our payment. My credit rating dropped from an 823 to a 731, almost 100 points!! Likely because the payment deficiency was so high, almost $4,000. Freedom mortgage did not report that $74.23 was overdue. When I wrote a letter to the company asking they reverse the 30 day late report to the credit bureau, it took them two months to tell me "no"; sending me a copy of the note we signed. Unbelievable. I really hate this company. You will likely not have a choice to use Freedom mortgage as I think they only buy out other mortgages. If you do get a choice, go somewhere else for your own peace of mind.

I would give this company NO stars if i could. When i made a payment on their online system, it gave me an error message and said my payment couldnt be processed i turned around and made a payment the next day and the system finally took my payment and provided me with 1 confirmation number. I then go to make a purchase at target and my card gets declined, i go to look as to why. FREEDOM MORTGAGE took 2 payments from my account. I then call them and them tell me that they see 2 payments but that they had to have confirmation that the payments have been taken from my account. IF YOU SEE CONFIRMATION why would i have to provide you with more confirmation. They give me an email to send my statements that shows this information i send this email 5 times, i have been dealing with the same problem since 07/05/2018 and it is 07/21/2018 and i still dont have my money back into my account. Everytime i call they tell me that they are going to expedite the process. The rep then informs me well this means you dont need to make a payment the next month, i go into my online account and it tells me i have to make a payment the next month! I am going to contact the BBB because this company is filled with crooks!
