My wife and I closed on a house yesterday in Georgetown. Cheryl and Jeff put my loan together. Two requirements for a mortgage lender. First is they need to have a strong back end. The local contacts don't ever actually float the mortgage, they assemble the information and submit it to the underwriter who in this case is SWBC in Houston. Secondly they have to be able to understand the input information and get it assembled in the right way to forward it. Huge bonus points if they are professional and nice and dedicated and answer the phone and care about what they do. I'm a veteran and small business owner the combination of which one would think was not that unusual. But the first lender (who worked for the builder) spent three and a half months trying to figure it out only to tell me the week before closing that I could not get the loan. Fortunately my realtor sent me to Cheryl and Jeff. In two weeks with a minimal amount of pain (on my end) they were able to put everything together and get us to closing at a good rate and a wonderfully small cashier’s check required. And they got all the bonus points. They are exceptionally nice, professional, accessible (that should be moved from the bonus section to required section) and dedicated. To ME. Working late into the night on my package and just cheerful about it (that part was unsettling.. they are invariably cheerful). I would not hesitate for an instant were I to start again today. Cheryl and Jeff have my thanks and lifetime loyalty.
