I truly loved the tour at St. Stephens. Melissa our tour guide is very knowledgeable, hearsed, exciting, funny, and a lover of her heritage and town. Melissa, brought to life the history of her ancestors past with a future twist. Listening to Melissa allowed my imagination to visualize what is no longer visible to the eye.

Nestled in the backwoods of rural Mississippi are the archeological remains of a once prosperous busy town that sprung up along the Mississippi fall line. The forest has taken over the site and about all that is left are depressions in the ground where the cellars once were. However there are detailed maps and historical records that have allowed archeologists to accurately lay out the location of the streets including addresses and the name of the person who lived there. One a side note: there is an 18 hole disc golf course in and around the site of the town.
