When we were looking to buy our first house we talked with several lenders: ones we bank with, national chains, and some suggestions from our realtor. Mark Worthington was one suggested by our realtor. Before we had even decided which lender to go with he was willing to spend several hours with us explaining the process, the speed bumps we might run into, and what we would need to do to successfully get a loan. The patience and caring he showed during the process, and the knowledge he displayed while answering our questions sold us. The fact that we were buying from out of state meant that our only interactions with Mark and his team were through phone calls and emails, and they were very responsive and helpful in this way at all hours of the day.Mark understands that there will inevitably be drama in your mortgage application, and he was right there to calm our anxieties every time we needed it. It is difficult to stress how important it was to us that we would leave every conversation with him feeling that the process was going to work out and knowing what our next steps needed to be. Mark and his team are human, so there were a few pieces of advice we would have appreciated a little earlier in the process or phrased a little more clearly, but that’s impossible to avoid with any complicated communication, and we would very highly recommend Mark to anyone who is seeking a caring, passionate, intelligent, responsible, and responsive lender. In our specific case, we started talking to Mark a couple of weeks before entering contract on our new home, we had a very short closing period, and the added complication that the 4th of July was two days after our closing date. Mark and his team did everything they could to make the process as smooth as possible, and we closed on time with no actual problems.
