This was not our first home purchase. However, having tried and failed to secure a mortgage with student loans in the recent past, we were very cautious in our approach to trying again. When I started looking for a local broker, Summer responded to my inquiry immediately and was more than willing to start working on securing a loan for us much earlier than what might be typical. She immediately identified the issues we had in the past with our student loans, researched the proper path for our situation, and got confirmation from underwriters that we could get approved. This was a HUGE deal because other brokers--brokers that do not have the attention to detail and subject knowledge that Summer has--might let you get too far along in the process and then realize they missed something (yes, this is something that happened to us). In addition to the above, one thing that I thought was really cool, and unique when compared to my past experiences, was that Summer was very transparent throughout the process. When it came to nailing down our price range, we found that property taxes and the like can greatly affect what your actual top range is. This is extremely important when you know that what you need to buy is definitely going to be in that top range, so Summer would actually take the addresses of the places we were interested in and make sure that we would be good should we make an offer at list price (i.e., she checked on the property taxes, ran scenarios based on our situation, etc). She actually did this with me on the phone after 5pm when I was free to talk. Again, I've worked with other brokers in the past and this was never an option! I'll say one last thing: She came to the closing (and brought sandwiches). I think that's a big deal, and this is again something that was unique when compared to my previous closing experiences. It's objective proof that she cares! I can't say enough about Summer's abilities and willingness to go beyond normal expectations for her customers. I think you would be crazy to go with anyone else!

Summer has been the easiest, pleasant, and didn’t miss any details in our home loan. I feel she went above and beyond her means to try to get a cheaper interest rate all the to the end.
